About me
My Vision
At Confidence First Learning, I inspire young minds. I focus on developing confidence in foundational skills before progressing to more complex knowledge, a solid base for future learning. I believe that every child can thrive when provided with the right emotional, social, and academic support.
What I Offer
I offer individual and small group tuition in primary school maths, reading, and writing. My approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, central to this is open communication with parents to discuss goals, progress and expectations.
In addition to increasing confidence in core subject areas, I also offer dedicated preparation for the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC), Year 6 SATs and 11+ exams to ensure your child is fully equipped for success.

I am located in Caversham Heights, Reading. I offer my services across North Reading and South Oxfordshire, including Wallingford, Henley and the surrounding villages.
Who I am
All tuition is carried out by me, Chris Neal. I have almost 20 years experience of teaching and leadership within primary education, leading my last school to an Outstanding Ofsted Judgement in June 2024. I hold an MA in Educational Leadership and Management and am a member of the Charted College of Teaching.

Individual Tuitition
One to one, tuition with an experienced, qualified and DBS checked, primary school teacher in either, maths, reading or writing. Prices from £35 per hour.

Group Tuition
Small group tuition, maximum number of 5 children. A flexible and affordable option. Prices from £20, per child per hour, minimum number of children and hours apply. Please call or email to discuss further.
Curriculum Support
Curriculum design, advice and resources. CPD solutions for Schools, Tutors and Home Educating adults. Prices from £40 per hour. Please call or email to discuss further.
